THE PLUG-IN HYBRID RANGE

PLUG-IN HYBRID ENGINE

LITHIUM-ION BATTERY

The PEUGEOT plug-in hybrid cars come with a lithium-ion battery included with the vehicle. The range of a battery in a hybrid car in full electric mode can reach 45 km WLTP. The high-voltage battery is installed under the rear seats.

The e-SAVE function in plug-in hybrid cars lets the driver set an electric energy reserve*. This function means the driver can use the reserve when they want during their journey, especially for an upcoming restricted low emission zone.

ENGINE

A plug-in hybrid car is a vehicle that combines a combustion engine, two electric motors* and a battery.

The PEUGEOT plug-in hybrid cars are equipped with the new 8-speed electric automatic gearbox, the e-EAT8.

The PEUGEOT 3008 SUV is available with 4-wheel drive.

DRIVING MODES

Discover new driving experiences in two different realms: electric and combustion. The PEUGEOT plug-in hybrid cars offer up to four exclusive driving modes* to best suit you.

Recovering energy during braking and deceleration is available in all driving modes**.

*meaning only one mode can be used at once

**on average, 90% of braking energy is recovered in the battery

ELECTRIC MODE

This is the default mode for PEUGEOT plug-in hybrid cars*. Make the most of the ELECTRIC mode to drive in full electric. Benefit from all the advantages of electric, such as a silent drive, zero CO2 emissions and respect for the environment.

HYBRID MODE

HYBRID mode allows you to drive in electric or combustion mode depending on your driving style and the type of road you're on. This automatic mode means you'll benefit from the advantages of both electric and combustion, such as the optimized use of electric energy.

SPORT MODE

Harness the full power of the engine torque that a plug-in hybrid has to offer. Sport mode brings together the power of the two energies to get the most of your plug-in hybrid. The maximum combined power of the Peugeot 3008 SUV HYBRID4 can reach up to 300 hp.

COMFORT MODE

This mode allows you to combine HYBRID mode with the comfort of controlled suspension*.

Controlled suspension enables improved grip on the road for better traction while maintaining optimum comfort.

PLUG-IN HYBRID TECHNOLOGY

HOW TO CHARGE YOUR PLUG-IN HYBRID CAR

The PEUGEOT plug-in hybrid cars have been designed for easy and practical recharging.  The charging flap is located on the vehicle's left rear wing*. *Symmetrical with the fuel cap Once your car is charged, you can store your charging cable in a specific space under the floor of the boot. While your plug-in hybrid vehicle is plugged in and charging, a changing coloured light indicates that charging is in progress. Vehicle charge time will depend on the power rating of the plug and the charging point.

In order to maximize all-electric driving capacity, Peugeot plug-in hybrid vehicles offer various charging solutions.

PRIVATE CHARGING

Charge your plug-in hybrid car at home or at your workplace.

- Domestic socket: using a standard wall socket, your battery will be fully charged in under 7 hours*.

- Dedicated socket: this is the more efficient method, and the perfect balance to recover the range required for normal usage. Charge the battery in your car in under 4 hours* if you choose to use a dedicated socket like the Green'up® (16 A).

- Wallbox: recover full charge in several hours thanks to charging power of up to 22 kW. Using a specific cable and a 7.4 kW** charger, you can recharge in 1 hour 45 minutes*.

ECO DRIVING TIPS TO ADOPT

DRIVE SMOOTHLY

To avoid increased energy consumption, tailor your driving to avoid jerking, as well as frequent and rapid acceleration and braking.

USE THE BRAKE MODE

Instead of continuously using the brake pedal, use the engine braking system, which generates energy and charges the battery when braking and decelerating.

USE PRE-CONDITIONING

While your vehicle is charging, take advantage of pre-conditioning to limit the energy used by the heating or cooling systems when you begin driving. Heating or cooling the car while charging doesn’t reduce its range.

MAINTAINING THE TYRES

It is essential to look after your tyres regardless of your car’s engine type. Plug-in hybrid cars reduce energy consumption, but unsuitable or poorly inflated tyres greatly increase it, as well as being extremely unsafe.

OTHER QUESTIONS ABOUT PLUG-IN HYBRID VEHICLES

Plug-in hybrid or electric car: which to choose?

When it comes down to it, a hybrid vehicle is no better or worse than an electric vehicle. To decide which low-emissions vehicle would suit you best, you need to consider your driving habits and your requirements.

An electric vehicle is better if you only make daily urban journeys.

If you're used to driving long distances on a regular basis, a hybrid vehicle is likely the best choice. Plug-in hybrid vehicles allow you to travel in full electric mode or in hybrid mode, meaning you can alternate between driving in full electric or using the combustion engine depending on the type of roads you take.

How to charge your plug-in hybrid car

PEUGEOT plug-in hybrid cars combine the advantages of a petrol engine car and an electric car within the same vehicle.

A hybrid car uses two power sources: a petrol engine, and one or two electric motors with a battery and external charging port. The difference between a full hybrid car and a plug-in hybrid car is that the latter has to be plugged in to recharge the battery and drive up to 45 km in electric mode with our PEUGEOT models, rather than just 2 or 3 km for the non-rechargeable models.

A hybrid vehicle allows you to alternate your driving between full electric, hybrid mode or using the combustion engine. You can adapt your driving mode based on the type of road you take.

Do plug-in hybrid vehicles emit less CO2 than vehicles with petrol engines?

Thanks to its battery, a plug-in hybrid car can drive for many kilometres in electric mode, with no CO2 exhaust emissions. In order to optimize CO2 emissions, choose driving in full electric mode for daily urban trips. This means you’ll need to charge your hybrid vehicle’s battery regularly in order to use the electric motor.

By using certain ecodriving techniques during trips in HYBRID mode, you can optimize the driving range of your car in electric mode and thus reduce CO2 emissions.
