CONFORMITY, ORIGIN AND CONVERSIONS

The Certificate of Conformity (COC) is an official document required for the registration of a vehicle in France or abroad. Only the manufacturer is authorised to issue this document (original and duplicate).

PEUGEOT Certification and Certificate of Conformity (COC) | PEUGEOT

The PSA Group, the parent company of PEUGEOT, provides a dedicated site to apply for a Certificate of Conformity (COC). There you will find all the information and documents you need to register or re-register your vehicle in France or abroad.

OTHER CASES

EXPORT OUTSIDE THE EU OR TO OVERSEAS TERRITORIES

Manufacturer's Certificate of Origin

You own a vehicle registered in France that you wish to export outside the European Union (EU) or to an overseas territory (TOM).
You must obtain a Manufacturer's Certificate of Origin.
Please note that this document does not allow the vehicle to be registered at the prefecture.

OBTAINING AUTHORISATION FOR CONVERSION

Certificate specimen or specification sheet

You own a vehicle registered in France that you wish to convert, or that has been converted or fitted out by a workshop. When visiting the DRIEE or DREAL (vehicle registration authority) for individual vehicle approval, you will be asked for PEUGEOT's written conversion authorisation and a specimen of the Certificate of Conformity or a specification sheet (known as the "barré rouge" in France) of the original vehicle (excluding modifications).

PEUGEOT reserves the right whether to issue the conversion authorisation or not. It is therefore advisable to submit your conversion project to PEUGEOT before carrying it out.
Please note that these documents do not allow the vehicle to be registered at the prefecture, but only to be approved on a case-by-case basis.

CONVERTING A PERSONAL CAR (VP) THAT HAS BEEN MODIFIED INTO A COMMERCIAL VEHICLE BACK INTO A PERSONAL CAR

Vehicle conversion

A modified personal car (dérivé VP) is a commercial vehicle that has been converted from a personal car. It refers to a normal vehicle – e.g. a 206 – that has had modifications done to it. Often the rear seats are removed, leaving only the two front seats.

A modified personal car has the "DERIV VP" reference in front of the index J.3. on the registration document
It is possible to convert a modified personal car back into a personal car, e.g. in particular, by re-installing the seats.
Please contact the aftersales service at a member of the PEUGEOT network in order to find out what to do.
